PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 2) – Tables and individual seats for the 2017 Florida Sports Hall of Fame’s (FSHOF) annual banquet and induction ceremony, presented by Fanatics, are no longer available. “We are officially sold out,” FSHOF Executive Director Wayne Hogan said. “The response from the north Florida and Jacksonville communities has been absolutely overwhelming as we prepare to honor one of our greatest classes ever.”
The event, slated for Nov. 8 at the Marriott Sawgrass Resort and Spa, will see the induction of five new members, including former University of Florida Heisman Trophy winner and world-wide sports icon Tim Tebow, former FSU All-American, Tampa Bay Bucs star and NFL Man of the Year recipient Warrick Dunn, future Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and former National League MVP Chipper Jones, and former PGA Commissioner Tim Finchem. Former LPGA star and major winner Colleen Walker will also be inducted posthumously.
In addition, the Hall will honor the 1967 Coral Gables High School football team, named the Team of the Century, on the 50th anniversary of their state and national championships. Shriners Hospitals for Children – Tampa will receive the Hall’s Fame of Fitness Award.
Proceeds from the event will benefit several organizations, including Shriners Hospitals-Tampa, the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, and hurricane relief efforts.
