Angelo Dundee (born Angelo Mirena on August 30, 1921) was an American boxing cornerman who was born in Philadelphia and later moved to Miami to work out of his brother’s gym, The Fifth Street Gym. Dundee trained many world class boxers, but he is best known for his work with Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard. Angelo worked with and trained 15 world boxing champions, including Ali, Leonard, Jose Napoles, George Forman, Jimmy Ellis, Carmen Basilio, Luis Rodriguez and Willie Pastrano. Dundee was enshrined in the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994.
