At 16 years of age, she was the youngest starter on the 2002 FIFA U-19 team, playing every minute as the USA won the 2002 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Cup.
Despite battling through injuries early in her college career, Harris won three NCAA Women’s Soccer Championships with the perennial powerhouse UNC Tarheels in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Harris was also part of the inaugural roster for the Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League, starring for her hometown team from 2016-2021, and captained the side many of her six seasons in Orlando. In 2016, she was named NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year, after making 62 saves and having a 1.33 goals-against-average in 15 games. She now serves on the board of the Women’s Sports Foundation, led by Billie Jean King, and passionately advocates for Title IX and closing the gender gap in women’s sports.
