Davey Johnson, born in Orlando, FL, is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) second-baseman and manager that managed the 1986 New York Mets to a world series. Johnson managed the New York Mets (1984–1990), Cincinnati Reds (1993–1995), Baltimore Orioles (1996–1997), and Los Angeles Dodgers (1999–2000). Outside of the MLB, Davey managed the 2008 U.S. Olympic Baseball Team and the 2005 and 2009 World Baseball Classic teams. In 2009, the Washington Nationals hired him as a senior advisor. His career highlights include four All Star game selections, three World Series championships, three gold gloves, National League Comeback Player of the Year and American League Manager of the Year.
