Fran Curci was an All-American quarterback at the University of Miami in 1959. He served as head coach at the University of Tampa from 1968 to 1970, the University of Miami from 1971 to 1972, and the University of Kentucky from 1973 to 1981. Curci’s overall college coaching record is 81-71-2. In 1991, Curci coached the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League (AFL). The Storm finished the year 10-2 and won the AFL Championship, and Curci received AFL Coach of the Year honors. After coaching, Curci did radio broadcasts for college football games and served as the Parks Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
