Jack Harding started his head-coaching career at Scranton University from 1926 until 1936, compiling a 49-37-9 record there. He was able to move to the University of Miami from there to build on his success. With the Hurricanes, Harding had a 54-32-3 record until 1948, when he became the Athletic Director at Miami. He served as the AD for the Hurricanes until his death in 1963, and was responsible for scheduling such powers as Notre Dame, Syracuse, Michigan State, and Alabama. His 103-69-12 overall career record was remarkable considering the opposition his teams faced were some of the toughest in the country.
